Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Idea Maker collects, why, who we share it with and what you can do about it. It covers the Idea Maker mobile app and our website. It is written to be read, not to be survived — if anything here is unclear, ask us at support@ideamaker.ai.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, username, email address and password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from them, never your password.
- Profile — anything you choose to add: avatar, bio, links, and the verification documents you submit if you apply for a verified badge.
- Phone number — if you add one for shipping, or verify one so your AI calls can present a caller ID.
- Addresses — the shipping and billing addresses you save.
- Your content — posts, images, videos, prompts, templates, listings, comments and direct messages.
- Prompts and attachments you send to AI models, and the conversations they produce.
- Support and feedback — what you write in a bug report, the screenshots you attach, and the messages you send our support bot.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and app information — app version, build environment, platform, OS version and device model. We send this with bug reports and crash reports so a problem can be reproduced.
- Diagnostics — if the app freezes or crashes, it records a short trail of what it was doing and uploads that report the next time it starts. It contains screen names and timings, not the contents of your messages.
- Usage — what you opened, how long you looked at a post, what you searched for. We use this to rank your feed and recommend things you might like.
- Log data — IP address, request time and user agent, kept for security, abuse prevention and debugging.
- Push token — an identifier from Apple or Google, so we can deliver notifications to your device.
Information from others
- Our payment processor tells us the result of a payment, the card brand and its last four digits, and the identity-check status of a seller account. We never receive your full card number.
- Shipping carriers tell us the status of a parcel.
- Other users may mention you, message you, or buy from you.
2. What we do not collect
- We do not store full payment card numbers.
- We do not read your camera roll. The app shows your recent photos so you can pick one; only the pictures you actually choose are uploaded.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites, and we do not sell your personal information.
- On-device AI stays on your device. When you use an on-device model such as IM bot, your prompt and its answer are processed locally and are not sent to us or to any model provider.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the Services — show your feed, deliver your messages, run your AI requests, process orders and pay out sellers.
- To keep the Services safe — detect abuse, fraud and account takeover, and enforce our Terms.
- To improve the Services — understand what works, fix what does not, and rank recommendations.
- To communicate with you — service messages, order updates, security alerts, and notifications you have opted into.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the Services, your consent for optional things such as notifications and camera access, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. AI providers
When you use a hosted model, your prompt and any attached files are sent to the provider of that model so it can generate an answer. The provider is named on the model you pick. We send them your content and the technical metadata needed to complete the request — we do not send them your name, email address or account identifier. We choose providers that contractually agree not to train their models on content submitted through our API.
5. Who else we share with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to make the product work, under contracts limiting what they may do with it:
- Payments — our payment processor, for charges, refunds and seller payouts.
- Cloud hosting, storage and delivery — for running our servers and serving your images and videos.
- Notifications — Apple and Google, for push delivery.
- App Store refund requests — Apple. If you ask Apple to refund something you bought in the app, we tell Apple that it was delivered and what we would prefer: a refund of the unused part of a plan, and none for credit top-ups, which are not refundable. Apple makes the decision. By buying in the app you consent to us sharing this with Apple.
- Email and shipping — for transactional email and parcel labels.
We also share when you tell us to (anything you post publicly, or send to another user), when required by law or valid legal process, and in connection with a merger or acquisition — in which case we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
6. What other people can see
Your profile, your posts and your listings are public unless you set them otherwise. Direct messages are visible to the people in the conversation. Your AI conversations are private to you. Your email address, phone number and addresses are never shown to other users; a seller shipping you an order receives only the address needed to deliver it.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and content: while your account is open.
- Deleted content: removed from the Services promptly, and purged from backups within 30 days.
- Order and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years.
- Diagnostics and logs: up to 90 days.
- Deleted account: we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
8. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Verification documents are encrypted at rest. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you and the relevant regulator if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
- Access, correct or delete — most of it from the app; anything else by writing to us.
- Delete your account — from Settings, at any time.
- Export — ask us for a copy of your information.
- Object or restrict — ask us to stop a particular use.
- Withdraw consent — turn off notifications, camera, photo, microphone or motion access in your device settings at any time. Turning off motion access disables shake-to-report; nothing else changes.
- Complain — to your local data protection authority.
If you are in California, you have the rights described above under the CCPA and CPRA, and we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
To make a request, write to support@ideamaker.ai from the address on your account. We reply within 30 days.
10. Children
Idea Maker is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
We operate from the United States and our providers may process information in other countries. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
12. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we publish the new version here with a new version number and effective date, and tell you in the app before a material change takes effect.
